 Need affordable parts -F250

I was running late for work and backed out of the garage too fast in my 2000 F250 4x4 ext cab, long box, 7.3L Turbo Diesel. Problem is I hit the side of the garage with the passenger side mirror. It folded forward, but not before breaking the plastic ball-joint on the mirror glass. So the mirror glass just hangs there and won't adjust well.

Point being, I am in need or replacing it. Does anyone know of an affordable place to get replacement parts? Dealers are not exactly inexpensive. I've worked for manufacturers before and know the huge profits made on parts.

Local junk yard is GM product and doesn't go any bigger than S10 pickups for the trucks. 99% of their product is GM cars.

Try this place I've found good prices (sometimes lower than ebay). I heard a rumor several years ago that the junkyards were the first large non-govt group to get the internet to link their parts lists, if this happens to be true this may be their site.

When I need parts from a junk yard, I go to Tiger Auto Parts. They are located in Burton Michigan which is just Southeast side of Flint. They have three BIG lots; GM, Ford & Chrysler. Don't know if they do mail order. Phone number is (810) 743-7400. P.S. I have nothing to do with these guys but have gotten a few items when necessary.

Most places will want to sell you the entire mirror. I've been that route before and understand their side.

I'd take the whole mirror just so I don't lose my wallet in the process. I've worked in the manufacturing industry for years. So I know that parts is a huge money maker with markups typically 5-15x the cost of the actual part. I'm trying to avoid a $500 mirror.

Most of the time a junk yard will sell you more parts in a sub-assembly than the tiny part you are looking for, for less! I'd give Tiger's a call!
