 My Wifes Mushroom Soil

My wife recently purchased some Mushroom soil for her garden from PA. Every year she tries to kill me by buying 30 yards of something ;>)

Anyway, she has not decided what is to be done with it precisely yet, so I covered it as best I could, but some rain has hit the edges and I just noticed that the wash off from the pile really stains the paved drive with a dark substance that hardens like rOck in the sun, and the lawn has been killed where the wash out passes thru.

I guess this id OK! Right? I was thinking that Mushroom soil is basically composted dirt and Horse/Cow manure and straw / mulch.

Does anybody know the composition of this stuff? Will the stains wash off the drive? Will I have more turf damage due to leaching wherever I put it? Is this stuff too strong to be put in my wife's flower beds this spring?

Thanks,
Dennis
CTB

 My Wifes Mushroom Soil

Dennis sound like a load of B.S. to me, literally. Mushroom soil should be the composted material like they sell in bags. It will have a lot of organics in it but should be close to neutral pH (7.2-7.6). If it is killing the lawn and staining the pavement then there is a lot of tannic acid from the wood products and ureic acid from the BS.
I would let is compost a while. You may use it straight but be careful what plants get it, i.e. must be acid loving. Adding a little soil to the heap will help seed bacteria and increase the rate.
Power pressure washing should remove the stain. Other wise you may need to acid wash the concrete.
Peters - trying to cut through the B.S.
