 correct straw for new seed

I know that one decomposes, and one does not, so should I use oat or wheat straw and why ?

 correct straw for new seed

All I do know about that is all the commercial seeders and landscapers that do not hydroseed around me use wheat straw. It is almost the only thing readily available and it does not cause any problems.
