The New York International Auto Show is upon us, and Nissan has given us our first look at the all-new 2015 Murano. In a press release, Nissan says the Murano “was inspired by the elegance of the famed Italian Murano glassware” when it was first introduced for 2003. However, the 2015 Nissan Murano offers futuristic styling inspired by Nissan’s Resonance concept, which debuted at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.

“At Nissan, we create concept vehicles with an eye toward production, rather than just for entertaining auto show audiences,” says Shiro Nakamura, senior vice president and chief creative officer of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. “Likely few people who saw Resonance in its North American International Auto Show debut imagined that we could build such a futuristic design. But here it is, ready to hit Nissan showrooms less than 24 months later.”
