Trimmer Blower
Do any of you lawn care equipment experts know of a gas powered trimmer which can use "changable" work ends? What I'm looking to get is one peice of equipment which has both a trimmer attachment and a blower attachment.
Or, am I better off to buy a backpack blower and a trimmer as two seperate units?

Let me share my Blower exp. I have lots of leaves, not sure what your situation is. I purchased a Husqvana blower last year,
a back pack style, I think it was the biggest one husky made
at least at that dealer, 600 cubic feet per min. or there abouts. The stem of the leaf would get stuck on the grass and you had to just about blow each ind. leaf. That was not the answer. I went back and wanted something more powerful, bought the biggest baddest blower made(backpack) The Echo
model? 1200 cubic feet per minute. This thing will blow the
1 1/2 " stone away from the foundation. It is powerful, but heavy, a couple of hours of this is all you want. The problem is once you start you have to finish and the wind is guarantied to change direction ten minutes after you start. I have to pick my days when I know I have a good strong steady wind.
Still looking for a set of mulching blades for my 60" MMM !

Trimmer Blower
I use reconditioned Homelite weed whackers that I purchase at these traveling toolshows at local Hotels. You can get a plane curved shaft for $49-$59.00. One that uses interchangeable heads is about $79.00. Most of the machines with interchangeable heads are interchangeable with the original Roybi design. You can get attachments like edger for about $30.00. I have an edger and small tiller. The attachment stuff is ok but light duty.
If you get a leaf blower that is not a backpack design, I would recommend Stihl. I have several lower end priced units that almost blow too much. It throws rocks quite easily. Stihl has there own design for interchangeable heads which is expensive but "contractor duty".
Everything uses 50:1 mix and I like the Stihl oil!

i have got to say, for our lawn care outfit we use lots of redimax equipment, and they make the best blowers (not very good weed whackers though.) husqvarna makes good whackers but they're bulky....go with the redimax for blowin

I have a lot of blowers and the ones I use primarily are my stihl br 600 4 mix. they outdue any other blower ive used. I have a couple of br 550 that do ok... for sale. if you are ever in Maine. anyway I would defenitly go with the stihl. I dont like echo.. kinda cheap. anyway. just my opinion.,.
