Dixon ZTR Mowers
I know it's winter time but down here in the south it will be spring before you know it, my question, does anyone here have some info or experience with the Dixon ZTR mowers. I've been reading and looking at the 44"&50" models for grass cutting of coarse but also for vacuuming up leaves. My land is flat as a pancake and I'll be cutting about 2ac. I've looked at the ZTR's mowers at the big box stores but they look inferior. What i like about the Dixon there's a dealer within 25 miles, welded deck, built stout for a residential model and they claim to have been the first to build the ZTR's. Any pros or cons info would be helpful. Thanks//Headhog

If you get one, remove the keys before parties. Years ago, a coworker had one. Friends would fire it up at parties and go in circles after consuming mass quantities to see who could keep it up the longest. Unfortunately, that's the limit of my experience with them.

Dixon ZTR Mowers
One of our neighbors had a new one about 10 yrs. ago, I don't know the model number anymore. But back to the topic, I used to cut their grass quite a bit as they traveled a lot in the summer. I used their Dixon ZTR. It was a real nice machine to run, did a nice job on their rather hilly lawn. If I were to go back to a dedicated mowing machine I surely would give them a good look. Best of Luck. Frank.

It is my understanding Dixon used to have a very complicated drive zero turn mower. That was before the hyd direct drive designs used by others and I assume them now.
What little complaints I have heard on them had to do with their old chain drive. No idea how well their newer machines are. Local Dixon dealership dropped them for another brand and then closed.
For our southern yards, mine has just gone brown. Not long that way at all.
Boy is a zero turn the way to cut grass.
