Hitch ball mount question
I recently bought a ball mount in a garage sale and thought it was a steal. It's a large cushioned ball mount that weighs about 25 pounds. it slides into the 2" receiver with the main part of the body under the receiver. Under towing and braking the Stainless steel tounge slides in and out of the body. Unlike the cheaper cushioned mounts with rubber pads in the 2" tube, this seemed much more beefy. I'm sorry I don't have any pics to post yet but was wondering what the weight and maintainence properties of this ball mount is. There is two bolts with lock nuts at the back of the body and was wondering if it works on hydralic pressure to slow the movement of the tounge. If anyone has seen these around or has one please let me know, any info would be greatly appreciated. I was unsuccesful in Googling a matching ball mount.

Hitch ball mount question
I have two of them and they work great. Very sturdy and well built. Not much if any maintenance I am aware of to be done to them. They really cut down on the knocking a clunking of the between the hitch and ball mount.

Hitch ball mount question
Chief you have done it again. Reach over your Left shoulder with your right arm an PAT several times.
I have several pieces of old equipment I move on the road not counting my wagons.
The TS stuff always looked so cheezy I never bothered with them and have tolerated the wagon shock loads on the tow vehicle. Actually I haven't looked for anything to solve it for years.

Hitch ball mount question
Thanks for the post and link to the site Chief. I found out I have either the 740 or 840 model. When I purchased it, it was painted over and there wasn't any visible marks to identify it. I've since removed the paint and coated the entire body of the mount with rattle can sprayliner from Duplicolor. It's more durable than spraypaint, and I don't have access to a powercoat machine. Also, it's about $7 a can and can be bought at AutoZone, Meijer, Walmart ect... I use it more often than paint and if things get scratched, just a quick touch up and you can't even tell it was retouched, great stuff. I even used it on my nerfbars on my truck and they look great, no rust anymore! Thanks again for the info, this site and it's members are a tremendous help!
