Probably should put this under lawn and turf :-0

There is a new form of racing around here. Grasscar... Lawn mower racing. I've seen the souped up ones on one of the Big dish (can't remember how to spell satelite) feeds.

Good ole boys have those things souped up to do 45mph+. Now thats moving on a old beat up lawn tractor.

Some of the classes require an operational mower deck...

I don't have a name for it, a box scraper on wheels? And it works well.

It is patterned after dairy lot scrapers but without any hydraulic adjustments. It works like a very small version of a road grader.

I have had trouble starting with rough land and making smooth roads utilizing rear mounted blades. Every time the rear wheels hit a bump the blade would dump its load; every dip would create a gouge.

Suspending the blade between two sets of wheels (like a road grader) removes nearly all the dumps and gouges, or at least makes the undulations in the road very long and flowing rather than short and choppy.

I have also designed a wider, open sided blade to hang in front of the box scraper that can be adjusted to cut crowns and level slanted areas.

Mark, modifying your blade to power angle is a cinch, using most of the hardware you already have there. Take a picture of it from behind and looking a little bit down on it and I will design it out for you in a minute. That way you could either build up one side to create flow or crowns, or cut depressions for drainage.

Not exactly about GRASSCAR, but a followup to rookie's question about Mark's scraper. I was in my dealer today looking at pallet fork brochures and came across one that listed the tow behind scraper-on-wheels. They're called DRAG SCRAPERS. FWIW.

I couldn't see spending another $1200+ on a new implement when I already had a box scraper and a rear blade. That is why I adapted my existing box scraper and rear blade to drag scraper with a couple of twists.

My design uses a combination of the three point hitch and a mechanical top link to set a repeatable cutting depth. The other feature I wanted was to convert back to a box scraper with a minimum of effort and it does that.
