Sprayer for ATV
I am thinking about getting a sprayer for my ATV, one that covers 6 ft plus or minus with 2 or 3 nozzles. Anybody have one they have had good luck with?

I use a pull-behind that holds roughly 25 gallons and has 2 nozzles. Works fine except the arms aren't the best and can fall down if not tightened enough.
You do need to watch the uprights that hold the spray arms. I bought mine after I borrowed a buddies and one of the uprights failed. It was a simple threaded rod with a bend in it. Way too underbuilt to handle the vibration. So I made sure the one I bought was different.
Speaking of which, I need to drag that thing out and use it. I bought mine through the local True Value. Dunno what brand or make it is.

You can find a sprayer that fits your 6 foot width with the new style single nozzle and no boom. Since you mentioned ATV I would think no boom would be a plus.

P-K has a some tow behind sprayers that may work well for your situation. I have thier 55 gal, 3-point, 12v pump, boomless version that uses two individually controlled nozzles: check my picture 17. I got it from The Mercantile (similar to TSC). Now that I have it, I would not want to be without it.

Are there any disadvantages to using the boomless nozzle instead of a boom nozzle?

The only disadvantage that I know of is that I really have to spray in calmer conditions. The advantage is that there is no boom to mess with. That may be an advantage for some in some cases though. When first considering the sprayer last year, I did not know about "boomless;" but I like it now.

I have a 25 gal sprayer and occassionally use a 10 ft boom on my Kubota RTV to spray my small crop fields. It works fine for me. Boom had instructions for mounting to an ATV. Good luck.

Having never used the boom less nozzle I am not sure you have the options you do with boom nozzles. I suspect you may get better coverage with the boom system depending on the height of your sprayer and the height of what you are spraying. Do you need to spray the foliage or just get the chemical on the ground? Are you working where the booms would have a clearance problem? When turning around booms seem to grow longer with your turn radius. Booms normally have some movement for protection when going forward but often none if backing up. Booms normally loose battles with trees.

We use the boomless type spray nozzles whenever possible.
They have one huge advantage to us over boom type sprayers, they are not nearly as much affected by changes in terrain. On a golf course or rolling estate-type property where there is rarely much flat land, the boom is often too high on one side (not enough product applied) and at the same time too low on the other side (too much product applied).
The single nozzle, while still affected, doesn't change much in the amount of coverage when working on this type of terrain since the narrow wheeltrack of the carrier stays flat to the ground.
Trees and other obstacles are also much easier to manuever around with a boomless sprayer.

Sprayer for ATV
I will be using it mostly for spraying the yard, but occaionally for the weeds on the rest of the place. Been fighting fungus as well as weeds in the lawn the last couple of years and looking for something that is faster than the spot spayer. A few trees to spray around and in between so the boom can would have to be not much wider than the ATV. The only thing that bothers me about the boomless is if you can use it if it is a little bit breezy(say 5mph). Would not use it on a windy day, but here in Idaho where I live we hardly get a real calm day in the spring and early summer.
By the way Murf, do you have any recommendations for any product that kills a broad range of funguses?
