Tar on the Trailblazer

We ran thru some tar with the white Trailblazer and splattered up the left side pretty good. Does anyone have a favorite product to get the stuff off? Or sometning to not use?

Tar on the Trailblazer

Any solvent such as Varsol or paint thinner. A box of Q-tips, and patience in disolving one layer of the tar at a time will avoid smearing it over a larger area.

Tar on the Trailblazer

I've used the commercial "tar remover" products from the auto store successfully but not on a clear-coated vehicle like yours. Any would probably work but I'd be sure it said it was safe for clear-coated vehicles.

Franky use some of your nail polish remover.

Seriously, you can use good ol' gasoline on a clean rag too. There's no cause for concern about gas reacting with the paint--think about when you refuel--ever splash gas on it and nothing happens?

For the record on my Dodges I've used lacquer thinner, acetone, toulene(sp), gas, alcohol, mineral spirits, Goof-Off.

Man! I wish I had the time to worry about tar on MY white truck!
