 Yup---a CORDLESS Craftsman hammer

(Hey Dennis---might wanna change this posting category from ELECTIRC to ELECTRIC. )

Anywho...I just saw a TV ad for a Craftsman "Auto Hammer". It's cordless "electirc" (Dennis Laughing out loud) hammer without a claw but has a reciprocating head! No pounding---just load a nail onto its magnetic head and hold against something and bam bam bam!!!

What could possibly be next?

It's a bit of automated overkill for routine use, but if you need to nail where you can't swing a hammer, or are up a ladder where you'd need three hands, or aren't very strong or accurate and need to drive big nails into a hard surface ....

Friend of mine's MIL gave him a battery operated crescent wrench for his birthday, needless to say he was thrilled.
Another gadget overkill.

I just looked it up on their website, 99.99, Great Value it says. I don't think it would fit in the hammer loop of my pants leg.

I have my thoughs on how long this will run on a charge but the air powered hammers are very good for certain jobs. The biggest one I have seen them on are where you have to place a nail in the metal hanger and use short heavy nails. Also great between rafters on already built houses.
