My 98 F150 just passed 200K miles this weekend. That in itself is no big deal. What I think is outstanding is that other than maintenance, the truck has NEVER BEEN IN THE SHOP. Not even for an oxygen sensor. Like the eveready bunny it just keeps going and going. In fact it runs and drives like it was new. I keep looking at new trucks but for now I can't seem to justify one.

I would be the first to complain if it was a lemon. Because of its excellent record I thought I should give Ford credit for selling me a great product.
Dave

Now you must have replaced the brakes and exhaust.

Art,
I would include brakes under maintenance. Front and rear were each done once. It's a 5-speed so brake wear is minimal. Exhaust is original and looks like new in spite of the horrible salt brine it's subject to each winter.

Is that the 450 HP supercharged model? You should be able to keep up with traffic in that too. Smile

Yes, but I am hoping that by production time it will be more like 500hp more on the level of the new Z06

I've heard it is over 500HP. All I know is that I'm making the fixturing tooling to hold the motor mounting brackets during machining. The new castings are iron and they've made a number of changes from the proto-types. Originally they were made of aluminum but the motor just ripped them out. I think we're on the 3rd generation of iron.

My business partner has an 05 Viper V-10 with 550+HP. It shits and gets! Don't know how they compare. He also has a 93 ZR1 Vette which I always thought was fast. No comparison!

Yooper My mustang has 535HP at the rear wheels and will run a 10.6 in the quarter. I know the new cobra will not do that but I still have to have one.
