 Neighbor Story

I am in the process of having a pole barn put up. Last week I discussed with the builder him leaving a 5-Gal pail in the pour so I could get water in at some time in the future.
This week shortly after I arrived my 78 year old neighbor pulls up and ask me to give him a hand unloading his van.
He hands me a water hydrant, 4ft of PVC, and a 100 ft roll of pipe along with the receipts. He then tells me to start digging and he'll be by at 8:00 tomorrow morning.
I did as instructed ( how could I refuse?) and by 8:30 had everything ready for concrete. He is a great neighbor, but a harsh task master...He tells me he expects the ditch finished to the water hook up next weekend. See pic 3.

Yep, sometimes the old fellers don't understand why we don't move as fast as they think we should, Laughing out loud.

BTW, nice dealer sticker on the hoe boom.

Best of luck.

I wonder as to if he is sizing you up for a couple of projects for himself! He seems like a good neighbor as he is giving you plenty to do get some stick time with your new machine. I do wonder if that is a central NY thing as I have several neighbor chores to do as soon as I can get to them, all need a little different equipment from full size hoe or excavator down to a chainsaw but none of the jobs are for me! How'd you do on the other dirt you need to move?

Hi Art,
I see a stump down by my neighbor that I am sure will be one of those jobs. Still I think the main motivation for him is having something to do and having someone who hasn't heard all of his stories. Glad to provide both.
The other dirt is still there, I got side tracked to the ditch to get ahead of the concrete pour. Life finds me too often behind the desk and not often enough on the tractor.

Len.

PS Any idea when the third wheel clamp might come in?
