Fall leaves
Dennis, I like the fall leaves next to the TP logo. Just got back from a five day color tour through the Michigan U.P. Saw lots of color but not as brillant as some years (was a really dry year) and saw my first snow for the season. Lake Superior was awesome as ever and the Indian cusinos didn't get much.
Viewed half dozen or so waterfalls and the shipwreck musuem at Whitefish point where the Edmund Fitzgerald went down. Was a pretty good tour except for one thing. My lab rolled in Bear poop while we were on a hike on some nature trails at Tahquamenon Falls. She got both shoulders, back and neck full of it. Took an hour of scrubbing with Prell and Pantene shampoos. She looks clean but some of the odor is still there. Bears sure drop some nasty stuff!!!

Thanks Pete I had forgotten how goofy labs can be. We just brought home a new puppy, Lab/border collie cross. Maybe I can take him back before it is too late.
Oh well I guess he can't be any worse than the pure bred german pointer that arrived a few years back. He was named "Stupid" for good reasons. If you put a leash on him it is like walking air. I am not sure whether you can blame the hunters or the AKC for his abilities.

Fall leaves
If you can find a place that sells equestrian supplies buy some "Mane & Tail" shampoo.
I don't know what they put in it but it will clean ANYTHING out of an animals hair. It also works really well on us 2-legged critters.
Horses roll in some pretty good stuff too.
So far it has worked on everything my Jack Russels have been able to coat themselves in for the past 20+ years.
Best of luck.

Murf thanks for the tip. We usually go to the local Vet and have her professionally done, maybe that is what they use. She has been into fish guts and a squirt or so of skunk as well as lots of others. Tomato juice doesn't get it all out and we've tried just about every human shampoo.

I'll check into the main & tail shampoo too. Thanks!
Last Thursday I was ready for bed as the baby was being fed and everything was done. I brought the dog in and got a good whiff of the lab. Son of a...!! So much for crashing. He knew he was in trouble, but he did it anyway. At least now he's trained to walk into the walk-in-shower by himself. Saves me the trouble of picking up an 80 lbs lab and stuffing him in there. It's nice since it has 2 shower heads. So I just turn on the water and let him soak a bit before I go in there and soap him down. I don't know what it was, but it was probably something dead the other dog had killed.
Ya gotta love 'em!
I'll get the recipe my mom uses for getting skunk out of her dogs. I've been lucky so far, but she has skunks around her house. Her recipe works pretty good.

I have used the mane and tail on the dogs for years. It is cheaper than the stuff marked people or dog. It depends on the brand but it does a good job.
