Looking for Powerful Backpack Blower
Can anyone give me advice on what backpack blower I should purchase. I want to purchase the most powerful unit available. I have been looking at the Echo PB-650. Does anyone know of any dealers around the country that I could contact.
Thanks

I've always liked the Stihl brand of products. I don't know how it compares to the Echo, but know my regular hand held unit has lots of output.

I have a Stihl hand held wind speed 180 mph. I have alot of leaves an have run it for 4 hrs. straight only stoping to fuel. It is now 2 1/2 years old. The stihl dealer is just down the road he keeps it ready to go. I also have a stihl chainsaw I bought in 1987 for Hurr. hugo and is now used to clear the Georgia Outback and runs great. Also have a stihl FS-74 weed eater that is 5 years old I have only used it as a brush cutter (up to 3 1/2" dia. trees) still runs like a champ the weedeater head has never been used. If I buy anything else it will be stihl. I do take care of my equipment and the dealer is a good honest person. I only use Stihl Oil.

After hours of research, I think in narrowed it down between the Echo 751 or the Redmax 8000. Both are very pricy but I want something that will really blow leaves. The Redmax seems like a slightly better machine but the few dealers here in Connecticut want an arm and leg for it. Does anyone know of both Echo and Redmax dealers that are willing to ship to Connecticut and would have a reasonable price. Any suggestions on what machine I should purchase.
Thanks

Try speedwaysales.com. They sell both models and have free shipping. If you type in the brand and model names on google you will find other sources. The Redmax has a bigger motor and lots more fuel capacity meaning more weight. The Stihl BR600 has more zip than the Echo (712 vs: 620 CFM) and weighs about 4 lbs. less but has less fuel capacity.

I've heard very good things about Shindaiwa (sp?) trimmers and chainsaws. Not sure if they make blowers but it might be worth checking them out.

I have a Stihl ST400 back pack blower/sprayer that I have had for about 10 years. It has been a great machine and still runs like new. LOTS of power.

I use a Stihl that was purchased by my father in law and I would say is okay. He also purchased a Shindaiwa chainsaw and it is by far a better machine than the Stihl blower.
I know a Stihl dealer that dropped that line for I think Redman and the reason was the golf courses preferred the Redman said it was better machine. If the other source will not work for you I think he would ship. I have dealt with him and been very pleased. He is in South Carolina.
Watch windspeeds. Some give it at end of the tube and some before it hits a tube. Of course any tube slows down the air.
