 Jack Stand Wheel

I recently purchased a Load Trail dump trailer with a 2 inch square jack stand. I was thinking about putting a wheel on the jack stand so I can push it by hand into its final storage resting place inside my shed. The fit is tight going through the door and inside the shed and I am not a very good backer. Does anyone know where I might find a jack stand wheel with a square shaft rather than a round one?

Have you asked the trailer dealer if there is an optional wheel? Or maybe somebody local that does trailer repair? It's funny, I always take the wheels off our jacks so the trailers don't roll away!

You might also consider one of those those wheeled thingies, it looks kinda like a handtruck with a trailer ball on it.

Northern Tool and Harbor Freight sell them.

My area is also a little tight. It is quite easy with the tractor do you have a ball on the tractor?

I agree with Peters, get a ball on the tractor for parking.

Those wheels on trailer tongue jacks are horrible. It will allways want to roll the wrong way. I have a dent in my Truck's bumper to proove it!

I also agree that the tractor's a great way to jockey the trailer around. In fact, the ball mounted on the 3PH is really slick. You can back up to the trailer, raise the ball and grab it, don't even have to get off the tractor. It also puts the ball farther out back so you can really turn super tight.

Thanks for the input. Sounds like the tractor with the ball hitch is the way to go. Any suggestions on what currently is the best reciever adaptor on the market?

Dennis had rolled this thread also over to Manepoint. I had commented on the part number for the wheel assembly.

There are several different manufacturers of the 3PH receiver hitches. One advertizes right here, Summit Fabrications. I got a smaller version from them, that bolts on a standard 3PH drawbar. One thing you have to be aware of is there is no down pressure with the 3PH, so if the trailer was balanced heavy in the rear it could lift up the tongue and the 3PH. You can put on a safety chain to limit the upward travel of the 3PH. I have not found it to be a problem. I also bolted a ball-mount on the back of my rear blade, so I can move trailers when I'm cleaning up snow.

Good hitch at a better price and it comes with a safety chain to prevent damaging your three point hitch......
