Well Chief, aside from the rather offensive nature of the cartoon, I find your label of "Liberal Socialist Democrats" a bit offensive, perhaps you would like to be labeled a "Conservative Fascist Republican"?

Grinder, The phrase "stray off the plantation" is now common parlance in political circles. The connotation is one of willfully coming out from under the leadership or authority and requiring severe punishment when caught.
Many, many prominent voices in the black community have long stated that the likes of General Powell, Dr. Rice, Ed. Secretary Paige, and even Bill Cosby, Phd. are no longer black people.
The notion is that you have to live in griding poverty, have numerous illegitimate children and talk like they have Dr. Rice doing in those "cartoons" in order to be black. Oh yeah, and you have to be democrat. The instant any of the above changes, especially the democrat part, you are no longer black.
Of course, the folks setting this standard, Julian Bond, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Queasy Enfumy (my spelling) and the like, are all multi-millionaires but that doesn't seem to count.
Again, I ask you....... where is the outrage from these people?
The silence is deafening.

In a previous thread (November 2004 Thoughts) it was clear that this board like the country is sharply divided in its political views. I stayed away from the thread on purpose because I in many cases did not know what was fact or fiction. Both sides made many claims for thier guy and against the other. The one thing that cannot be disputed is that Bush was elected by a majority as well as many other republicans. The republicans have been gaining seats in the senate and house regularly in the past several elections. It seems the country is turning more conservative as of late. Just an observation.
P.S. I also think the cartoons are in bad taste.

Trimmer, I say, if the shoe fits........wear it. If you don't consider LBJ's "Great Society" and all of the governmental disease that spawned off of it socialist; I would suggest you read up on socialism. If I may make a suggestion, try reading Walter E. Williams.

Before the election (I haven't checked since to see how the numbers have changed as a result), 53 members of congress were open socialists. Many, many other political leaders outside of congress also are involved (ie jesse jackson, al sharpton, etc.). They're called the progressive caucas. Go to their website and also do a google search to find out who all are involved and what they believe.
The last two elections has been heavily socialist funded on the democtrat side. George Soros, the number one fundraiser for Kerry, and part of his team during the primaries, is an open socialist. He started and funded moveon.org
He has made it his mission to spread socialism throughout the third world, and especially wants to create a socialist system here in america. The fact that so little attention was given to him and his ties to John Kerry is yet more evidence of the leanings of the old media. Ask the average middle class working democrat about Soros, and theyll say "who?".
Hollywood is openly pro socialist. That's why they spend so much time praising pro socialist countries.
Micahel Moore could give a rats ass about the democrats. He's a socialist first, and has advocated over the years that capitalism is evil, corporations are evil, the US is evil, our constitution and economisc system is unfair to the poor, and praises countries like france for their politics and socialist economic system.
I really don't understand these people. They only need to look at recent and current history (never mind long term world history), to see that socialism 'never' works. And those who are advocating it already have their millions, so they themselves won't have to suffer under socialisms crushing oppressive weight.
I'm really pleased that the old media is being exposed for what it is. But I would like to see the democratic party become healthy competition again. They need to dump the socialists and hollywood radicals, and move back to the center. Really move to the center, not fake it like John Kerry did and hillary will do.
The 'complete' collapse of the democratic party will not serve the country well. They are completely controlled now by exrtreme left special interest groups, and need to dump them and concentrate on the needs of the 'whole' country.
They need to quit concentrating on forcing secularism, socialism, globalist government, pornography, and homosexuality on us, (especially by doing end runs around the people through activist judges) because the 'citizens' of this great country don't want those agendas.
Instead, they need to concentrate on the things that the people of this country do want. A trong defense, strong economy, freedom to worship their Lord without being ridiculed or treated like second class citizens, and safe and moral environment for their kids to grow up in.
America is the great country it is because of it's foundings in faith (incluiding the incredible generosity that comes from Christians/Jews), it's capitalistic economic system (which promotes and rewards hard work), and it's awesome 'divinely inspired' constitution.
Socialism is the opposite of everything "America" and I'm at a complete loss as to why the left embraces it.
