I think kschwumm has a great idea. Regional, possibly with staggered dates next summer would give everyone a better oportunity to be able to make it on a certian date to where ever they would like to attend. Maybe break the country into four or five regions with somone being the cheif of all regions and a sub cheif for each region. Those folks could then coordinate dates, etc., lighten the load for each and just pick a spot, set a date, see what happens. It's not too soon to start plans for next summer soon then everyone can try to make their schedules, vacation times, etc. work. We likely have lots of members with kids in school that can make a winter date a challenge. Any way next summer sounds great to me, someone just take the bull by the horns, set a date, time and place, we'll try our best to make it. Please don't ask,. my wife finnaly got me to step aside and let the younger folks handle these sort of things, it is a lot of work, so my cheers to anyone wuilling to take charge. Frank.

This sounds like a great idea! Unfortunately I would have to explain to my daughter and relatives why I have not driven 200 miles to visit them but I would visit my tractor buddies 1000 miles away. I know it would be lots more fun. Would we have unlimited beer and talk politics?

Grasgod, that is the good ole Hudson River. I used to have a larger boat that we took 1000 miles up the Hudson, out the Erie Canal, up the St Lawrence and Thousand Islands, and back down the Richelou, Lake Champlain, and Hudson. Went through 62 locks. What an adventure!

If folks from this forum were to get together there would have to be some sort of contest to finally settle this eternal battle of green vs blue vs orange vs all others. Maybe bocce ball? Badminton? Softball?

Dean - Do you have the room for a dozen couples or more? My wife & I would be willing to pitch a tent in your back forty.
As for the Grasgod name...It is an old nickname that started in High School. I was a mowing maniac & installing lawns like no other so my close friends started to call me that. Down here on the shoreline everyone takes their lawns seriously, infact maybe a little to seriously! Lots of rich & famous people around these parts. I also for the most part partake in chistianty. I'm not a holly roller or even close to a perfect person but I do take an interest in the lord.

Dean, I have worked hard on my waist size. No one will beat me! Many many gallons of (good) beer are consumed here. My wife is German and many years ago I got tired of returning cans to the beer dock. I got a keg cooler and we go through a keg every 3 weeks. I have a lot of (beer drinking) friends up here. The only people who like me are the ones I ply with beer Smile

I made my own beer one year (200 gallons) and drank it as quick as I could make it. I now buy better beer than I could make. "Hurricane Kitty" is curently on tap from the local brewery. I will probably die early but obviously I have lived well.
