Dean
what is your zip code. I like road trips so I would like to see how far and how long it would take to get there.

that is only 1130 mile from me. I should be able to do that in about an hour. Laughing out loud I can defiantly do it in a day. I drove strait thru from Pa to south Florida with no problem and that was about 1300 miles.

Right now I am thinking about setting the date for the second weekend in March. I would like to have the picnic / get together at Dean's place on that Saturday. My plan is to get an early friday morning flight in to Ok. Spend the rest of Friday sight seeing the area. Check into a hotel that will have been reserved for my wife & I. Saturday mid morning head over ot Dean's place to help set up tables & food. Spend one more night at the hotel, Check out sunday morning & spend a little more time sight seeing. Then get on a mid afternoon flight say around 4 ish. Glad to hear your in Hardwood.

Sounds like a deal. I really haven't looked at a map yet to find Grove, Ok., but that is no issue we'll find you. Frank.

Dean, is there a spot out front there to tie up if I fly in, or is the boat launch ramp shallow enough for amphib's to climb it?

Mapquest shows it just over 600 miles for me. Dean, with camping in mind, what are the temperatures like in your region in mid March?
Dave

Ok more good info, WX is always changeable here at Grand lake. March is the start of Spring time and along comes differential heating , I don't tie up A/C here due to the fact I am not interested in getting up a 3:am to move it in the face of T-Storms...

I will post a synopis of WX for this area in a link as most of us aviators know wx is the one variable we are not smart enough to change!!
