I've had my gator for five day's now and when I got it home I had to wash the fuel tank because the fuel seep's out and now had to do it again, Is this normal for the diesel? Thank's Don

I don't understand why you wash your tank after it (fuel?) seeped out. It shouldn't need to be washed at all!

Maybe rephrase the situation so I can get a better idea of what you mean.

it is like I can't get the top on tight enough and the tank get's oily and the dust sticks to it, Don

It's probably a vented cap and, if so, it's not surprising that oily fumes would be deposited and dirt will stick to it.

I agree with KW. Yes this is normal. If you powerwash too close to the cap vent(s) you may end up with water in your fuel tank. That will make the dirty-looking fuel cap seem insignificant Smile

If you must powerwash it and have to keep the cap clean, then place some sort of additional cap or cover over it while doing so. Conversely, like I found out when my cap got very dirty to the point the vents were plugged---it won't run anymore due to creating a vacuum in the tank.

Perhaps you are filling your tank fuller than you should or perhaps if you were to fill it a little less you would not have this to happen. Also is it parked where sunshine is heating it more than a shaded spot, increasing the expansion of the fuel? kt
