John deere amt600 5 Wheel gator

I have an amt 600 5 wheeler and I just got knew break pads for the back I went through and followed the directions that came with them but there is not enough room with both pads loaded in caliper to get it over the disk. I have both sides adjustek all the way out with the adjuster on back of caliper and both pistons look the same distance when all the way in I just cant get them to go on there is a little rust on disk but not that much any help would be great thanks a lot. Joe

I don't know about the Gator, this might sound stupid but are the brakes hydraulic? If so you might have to crack the bleeder a bit so the pistons can be pushed further in and then tighten it up right away to keep any air from being sucked into the system.

Joe, I am with Ken, not sure of the set up on Gator brakes but I have had to use a "C" clamp to pull the pistons back into the cyl for clearance on disk brakes before. Be sure you system is not sealed if you do so as there will be fluid needing to escape. kt

I have a factory wiring diagram that I can probably scan and send to you if you haven't figured it out yet. Let me know. You can contact me at johandes@aol.com Jim

If you still have that factory wiring diagram I sure would appreciate a copy. Just bought this used AMT 600 and it will only start by shorting at the starter. Thank you.
