 HPX roll cage

Hey guys, I have a HPX with out the factory installed roll cage and was wondering if anyone has seen them aftermarket or has a good link for them. I hav been looking online and most sites have the accessories for the cages but not the cage itself, and I am trying to avoid the hassle and price of getting it from JD.
Thanks
Tim

With all the freeloaders we have waiting for any hint of a reason to sue somebody I really you'll find anyone other than Deere willing to sell you a roll cage.

A COMPANY (thanks, Murf) called Femco says they have or will have Certified ROPS for them. Link below

Depending on your use (read: legality issues), I'd be tempted to fabricate one from a used or new tractor ROPS. I have done this before since I got a hold of new take-off that had all the bends I needed--got it from the dealer for $50. Simply cut the bent sections as needed and insert square tubing that fits snugly inside the straight portions and weld away. It can't be that difficult to make one since the ad says they are a 2-point system.

Are they related to the COMPANY by the name of Femco Jeff?

Something about using spell checker and the pot being blacker than Kenny's kettle? Laughing out loud

Best of luck.

Personally I'd look into a 4-point mounting system---the 2-pt will have to shake and vibrate like crazy, not to mention be not nearly as safe from collapsing than a 4-point.

I'd look around your area for a small fabricator that can do tube bending. Then...

Make a mockup of water pipe or even PVC to be sure everything has good clearances and looks and fits well.

Take that mock-up and build a sturdy wooden "check fixture" that you can take to the bender. The bender will use that fixture to check his bends as he goes. And you will be assured that the thing will fit without modifications.

Also, fabricating shops have access to pre-bent arcs of pipe that are used to make commercial handrail systems. You could tack-weld the pieces then have a certified welder do the rest and make it look professional ---this idea goes back to my suggestion of using a CUT ROPS and cutting that up for donor pieces since they are square sections.

Truss; I'm 100% for the small guy taking on Deere to undersell, or over engeneer them on a roll cage. Just coming from my own experience of owning a furniture manufacturing plant from the mid seventys till I closed it down in Jan. of 05 the first person you need to visit is an insurance agent who is familliar with busniess insurance. When I first opened the place it wasn't a big issue, but as years went along it became one of my biggest expenses. Even working alone the liability thing comes into play if you sell even one roll cage with your name on it, hopefully things will move along to where you need help. Family help is kinda "Iffy" in the insurance world, some don't mind, others will make a big issue of it. Then full time help comes into play, OK, hang onto your shorts now. I really hope you can make it work and I truly encourage you, but just thought I'd kinda forewarn you of what wiil be your biggest expense, the steel and bolts, etc. will be peanuts in comparison. I never once had a claim from anything or anybody I was invo9lved with in the business,"BUT" Frank
