Touchy Throttle at Low Speed
We just purchased a 1997 6X4 Gas Gator. Runs great except at low speeds throttle is very touchy and you are not able to maintain a constant speed.
Any suggestions?

Touchy Throttle at Low Speed
Hope Gatorraider chmes in but is the engine speed or the travel speed what varies so much? If travel speed it probably is in the clutch assembly it uses. Gatorraider is the pro.

Touchy Throttle at Low Speed
Gator starts off smooth and continues to accelerate smooth. If you want to hold at low speed and you keep your foot very smooth it will travel at constant speed very smooth, but any minor movement in the pedal causes it to jerk you around.
Acts like the throttle is just too touchy. Needs buffered with a spring or something to prevent such a little movement in the pedal from causing the carb to react.

I also have another idea, there is a spring that goes on the outside of the throttle linkage from the carb to the governor arm. Make sure that spring is hooked up on both ends and not broken..............

Thanks for the suggestions.
Is there any direction you can point me for instructions to do this?

The more I think about it, I believe it is the spring around the link to the carb. A close inspection will confirm.
