  gator dump

The dump on my gator doesn't work.The elec. motor works when hard wired. Voltage gets to it from the rocker switch. I just dont see how its grounded. I tried running an extra chassis ground wire from the frame to the elec. ram and still had no luck. Any ideas?

  gator dump

I'm no electrical guy (despite designing harnesses this year), but have you checked the resistance across the switch itself to see if it's the problem? It the motor getting the full voltage or just a portion? Have you tried a different switch?

Hit send to soon. My thought is the switch itself may not be allowing enough current draw to operate the motor. As switches get cycled, the contacts can degrade over time. Also, many rocker switches are pretty basic units that are made in mass production for pennies. Not exactly something I'd want in my airplane or car. I'd start there.

Else you may have to trace out the wiring to make sure you aren't getting a bad current draw somewhere in the line that prevents the motor from getting it all. Finally, is the motor/switch/harness wired properly? Some motors don't like being reverse wired.
