New String Trimmer Needed
You can pick-up several of the Echo String Trimmers like the SRM-210 at the Home Depot for $199.99 (1.1 HP). Echo just extended their consumer warranty to 5-years and these units are fully covered.
I happened to find a website www.rcpw.com where they are clearing the Kawasaki KTR27A String Trimmer for $239.99 - all-in. This includes free shipping, no taxes for a HD commercial unit that typically retails for well over $300.00. The best price on Ebay is $279.99. This is a powerful 1.6 HP unit and carries the following commercial ratings when directly compared to Redmax, Stihl FS80, Stihl FS100RX, Sindaiwa T231 & 261 and comparable Maruyama commercial models.
Weight to Power Ratio: A+
Comfort: A
Durability: B-
Ease of Start: B-
Value for Money: A (and this was at an over $300.00 price point)
Source (www.the-lawn-advisor.com)
If you're interested there are only a limited number of these units still available at this price.
Happy trimming,
Chuck Herron

New String Trimmer Needed
I thought it best to post this info here, since the topic had already been brought up at least once before.
We've been through a few weed trimmers over the years. None of the previous machines were worth the powder it would take to blow them up. This time I decided to look for a high quality trimmer.......and I found one.
The Echo SRM-230 weed trimmer is a fantastic machine. It's well-balanced, powerful, simple to maintain, easy to load with new line, and easy on fuel. It outperforms anything I've ever used.
I purchased this one used, off Ebay, from a fella in Texas. Even with shipping, the price was exactly half that of a new one -- but even at the new price, the purchase would be worth it.
Echo has a complete set of manuals posted online, free of charge. Parts are easy to get, and the manuals are of the highest quality. It's obvious that the people who designed the parts manuals knew what they were doing. The parts and assembly diagrams are of the highest quality.
For anyone looking for a new weed trimmer, the Echo line of trimmers shouldn't be overlooked. I highly recommend the Echo SRM-230 weed trimmer.

New String Trimmer Needed
Very few things in this world that I absolutely hate, but on that list string trimmers would be number one. I think there are four or five of them around here yet and maybe one of them might have a weak pulse yet. But, I've discovered a new brand of trimmer that takes no gasoline, makes no noise, no flying derbris, no back ache. ROUNDUP, greatest thing since canned beer. Enjoy your holiday. Frank.
