Boomer 1,
I'd rather prefer that the politicians never got anything done since any time they get something "done" it's usually done into the ground for good. What's aggravating, is, as you said, the waste of all that money. Think of all the taxes you paid in 2005 and what a nice tractor you could have gotten for that $$$.
The electorate in this country IS ignorant - they elected Bill Clinton twice. And brace yourselves, Hillary is a-comin'!

I was driving through Atlanta Tuesday and listened to a round table discussion on the radio concerning Hilary's comments. They felt all the politicians were grandstanding on MLK day. They thought the message was correct, concerning congress, but so are all the other political institutions. Their problem was who was stating it, Hillary, part of the problem. I don't think any astute people were fooled but it got a lot of media play, the out grandstanding, of the rest of the grandstanders.
Concerning deception in this country, I don't think anyone takes a hard look at any politician or media person. We have people, spread on a vanier of make up, stand on a podium and deliver lines from prepared speeches or recite verbatim from an ear piece. Everything is prepared by a writing staff. How does this differ from what the movie industry has fed the public all these years? Like in the studio system the political scripts are being controlled buy the money's vested interests. The director, script writers and producers are all scurrying around between productions, the senate, the congress, the media, the Lobbies (money) and the white house. I don't think Joe or Jill average public understands what the production is about or how shallow the vanier is. Consider the former producer Jack Abramoff.

I for one wish there was MAN with true guts that would be willing to stand up and say...LIAR and point his finger at the lies that such as Mrs. Clinton and her friends keep saying. I for one wish that man was Mr. Bush. He is the only one the media could not ignore. It does not need to be Mrs. Bush or Ms. Rice.
Two years ago a Democrat Senator from Georgia did just that and told he was voting for Bush. Today Senator Lieberman is saying about the same things. All Dems are not like Mrs. Clinton or her type, but they have lost control of the Democrat party. Sad.
It would be fun to see Ms. Rice head to head with Mrs. Clinton. Would make you think of Alito and Kennedy.
I live just up from Charleston SC. Yes there was some National Guard here after Hugo, as guards only. Wonder if anyone will point out to the likes of Mrs. Clinton there were blacks that also ownned slaves. Not many but were they any better than the whites that did? How about the white slaves also? I think they were called servants but look at those who came over as servants into NEW ENGLAND that way. Their life sure was not free until their debt was paid.
As to the attacks against the slave owners over and over by the lacks of the Demoncrats from up North, please don't forget to attack the Northern boat owners who went to Africa and bought the slaves to begin with and under their hands so many died during the trip. How come they are forgiven and forgotten? Sort of like the war on drugs. Bust the user cause you can find him. The big dollar importers get away with it to often.
Sure could be fun to see Mrs. Clintons family tree. Wonder if they were in the shipping industry?

If Mrs. Clinton were to run for President, would she again be Hillary Clinton or would she be Hillary Rodman-Clinton again.
If she is elected how long before Bill would have the same fate as Foster or any number of their friends. Or would she just divorce him. If she was free of him would she marry so we would have a "first lady?" Who do you think that would be?

What I find so totally amzing, ironic, and hypocritical about her statements, is how the clintons treated the whitehouse staff compared to the way the bushes treat them...The clintons would regularly 'party' till all hours of the night, often coming home at 2 or 3 in the morning, sometimes bringing guest home with them....then they's wake up the staff and make them cook food for everyone, serve them, etc....Definitely not how you win your staff over...
Contrast this to the bush family who is usually in bed by 8pm, and on the occasion that they do entertain, they do so in their quarters, and cook for their guests themselves...
The clintons were also known for treating the military guard assigned to them very badly..They looked down on the soldiers,a nd bossed them around...acoording to colonel patterson (the guy who carried the nuke codes for the president during the clinton admin, "they were shocked to learn that all officers in the military had college degrees" and they didn't realize this until their second term...
They had this attitude about those who work for them, and then hillary comes out and talks about how the bush admin acts like 'masters on the plantation'
Gimme a break!
Heaven help us if she ever is given the reigns of power in this country....I would remind you that this is the same woman that shortly after they took office referred to the US constitution as an 'antiquated document' and then set about putting together a 'committee' to look into 'rewriting' it...

Not to downplay the evil of slavery, but the Clintons could only wish they could exibit the kind of class and moral fortitude shown by the families of Jefferson Davis and General Lee. According to the historian Paul Johnson, the Davis plantation in Mississippi was well known for the fair treatment of workers, who were never subjected to corporal punishment nor had their families broken up. For some of the slaves, the plantation life was good enough that they willingly served the Southern army in the last stages of the civil war. Of course historical evidence is of no consequence to the imbecilic supporters of the Clinton clan.
