Broken: Know who else's attention you'll get if you put those flyers in or on those mail boxes? The US Postal Inspector. It's a felony with a big, fat fine to use USPS for non-postal use (read: buy stamps to keep our bloated USPS afloat).

If you have to, reverse-lookup their address to get their name (you'll have their address) and send them a letter. Piss of the worng person and it'll be you who's in trouble.

And I'd think twice about walking on to their property too to give them a flyer. I had a situation here in 'sippi where an arrogant neighbor was blasting his stereo in his home. Here turned it down and we're now friends but everyone I talked to down here said that if he felt I was threatening him he could have shot me no questiones asked (MS recently passed a law regarding feeling threatened in your home and killing someone). I know things are different in Yankeeland but ya never know.

But I'm jis' sayin'

Its definitely illegal to place flyers in a mailbox. Attaching flyers to the outside of a mailbox is a question - definitely illegal if someone can argue that you have defaced or damaged the mailbox. Attaching flyers to a mailbox post is legal. Attached link cites some USPS rulings a few posts down the list.

I was curious about this one because my neighborhood went around and attached flyers to mailboxes a while back when they were fighting a large nursing home complex complete with shopping mall which was being considered up the road.

Did you miss the part about 1am? No names for RSVP. Just a friendly reminder to neighbors. Using a mail box for non threatening things is like jay walking as long as you dont do it more than once.
Good info about going onto someones property down there. Im my neck of the woods, if I feel I am threatened, I would never give a rats behind what was legal or not, you finish the job and then figure out what to do about it! Round here, as long as there is no one with a video cam and the intruder does not talk anymore, you feared for you life, case closed, just dont do it with his back turned to you at 25 yards Laughing out loud.

I hobbled down the road yesterday to see which house this wicked smell was comin from. Yep, it was the one right next to my neighbor, he has a brand new firebox out there and for what ever reason (probably one you all mentioned not hot enough) it smells like crap. Many places north of here, when one is burning, it smells like a bit of heaven, hickory or oak,,,, Hmmm, smells like home!
