Let's see here..........

I'm gonna need some of that there green paint, a couple of new decals, and maybe a bottle of that super-duper wax you got there. That oughta get 'er in shape enough for Spring work. hehehe.

(Don't know what happened here folks, but it sure looks like somebody had a bad day.)

Joel

I did a little searching and discovered that the above photo was taken in Greensburg, Kansas, on July 11th, 2007.
A tornado had ripped the town to shreds, and one of the largest John Deere dealerships was directly in its path.

The above photo shows just a small amount of the damage that took place at that dealership.

For more photos of the destruction, please visit the following link.

With a 2000w inverter hardwired on my tractor I can power my saws (both pole and regular) in the field. Electrics aren't as strong as gas, of course, but they sure beat hand sawing.

Murf:

Wanted to say hello because I'm also a pilot (OK, not still current), I admire your frequent contributions to this site, and I'm sort of nearby (Waterloo).

Auerbach, thank you for the kind words.

Anytime I get down that way I'[ll be sure to give you a heads up, and if it's possible a little right seat time if you're up for it!! Wink yeah right I usually get down there a couple of times a year, my gal is a U. of W. alumni.

KThompson: not really. Saw one at an auction once and it looked pretty bulky, and would require tapping into the hydraulics, whereas I just plug in my light-weight 8" Remington. I've never seen a hydraulic one for sale, so they can't be all that popular around here, but I wouldn't be surprised if electric linesmen use them.

Murf: I'm five minutes from UW, where I went too, and retired from 30 years of teaching across the street at Wilfrid Laurier. Give me a call if you'll have time for a visit the next time you're in town. My cell is 998-0202; your better half will know the area code.
