 New way to dig stumps

Don't try this at home Smile

After months and months of rain it finally was dry enough to do some bush hogging on our trails. All was going well when my trusty JD MX-5 cutter starting making a terrible racket. I raised it up, moved forward and looked back. The cutter caught the edge of a 4-5" douglas fir stump I somehow missed and ripped the entire stump out of the ground, roots and all.

Anyway, no damage but it's probably a good thing I spent the extra money on a medium duty cutter.

Ken,

Are we to leave this to the Professionals on a Closed Course? Laughing out loud

Bet it did a good job of removing the dirt from the roots.

You are right about having the HD cutter vs the lighter one as you might not of only bent the steel but the gear case may have been a fatality too!

I have it on very good authority that a L4310 zipping through long grass with a bucket full of gravel will take out a similar sized stump without even stopping.

I also have it on the same good authority that the seltbelt leaves one heck of a set of bruised hips afterwards too!!!

Which is far better than stress-testing the tempered glass windshield.....

Best of luck.
