Hey Chief how is the ranch

Not at all Plots! I just got back from taking the kids swimming and did not see your post. Plus I was writing an editorial for the local paper. I haven't been able to get a lot done on the property yet. I am working on buying a house near by so we can move down there to live. This would put us in a MUCH better position to keep an eye on things and get some work done. Lately I have been having big time problems with poachers and treaspassers tearing up my fences to get on the property. I wouldn't call that a lake, more like a pond. But I am told that it is stocked with bass and catfish. I plan to test out the claims soon. ;o) It may be awhile but when I get thing situated and cleaned up; I will post more pics. Right now the grass is up to your armpits and the tics are aweful! ;o)

Hey Chief how is the ranch

Plots,

It has been over a year now since we got the place. Just thought I would post a follow up since I found this going back through some older threads. We moved onto the ranch last this last June. Found out the rumors about our well running dry on water were in fact TRUE. Arrgggg! We have since pumbed in a new and 2nd well to the water system and now have plenty of water. Have definitely been busy between trying to sell our prior home as well as fixing and cleaning up around the ranch. In fact we are adding a little more acreage and I have leased out some tracts to a hunt club. The girls are all in school here now and enjoying it and blending right in. Joined a local church and help them out from time to time. Now I just need to get a Ranger XP and a larger (80 hp or more) tractor and a 10 - 12 ft. rotary cutter.

I'm willing to bet there's a couple of spots on that spread where you could lay out a nice 2400'ish foot turf air strip.....

That way you could have an international hunter's B & B ...

Best of luck.

Hey Chief how is the ranch

Got a nice river bottom hay pasture that might work out for that if you had an aircraft that could handle landing on a bit of rough ground. Picture #10 or #20 might work but may need to be good at underflying power lines. ;O)
