  Pex vs Copper replace Copper Pin holes

Wondering if anyone has used Pex lately, particularly as a replacement to a failing existing copper installation.

Unfortunately, we just finished the basement where we used Pex for the new plumbing. We did sheet rock ceilings in most of it, But we do have a possible path we can run where there is a drop ceiling.

House is in its lucky 13th year, have acid water with an acid nuetraizer tank. Four plus years ago I got a pin hole leak in the quarter inch copper ice maker feed.

Then last month quarter inch pipe in kitchen faucet, next a pin hole leak in a quarter inch pipe in a Bath faucet.

Today a half inch curved copper pipe pin hole leak in a cold water pipe to jacuzzi (hoping bendable half inch pipe is significantly thinner than straight run copper pipe).

Is there any way to test/monitor the pipes for pin holes or do I just have to wait for water damage to appear. Like putting a presure test guage on?

Or just sell the house now So Sad

  Pex vs Copper replace Copper Pin holes

On the Homeowners Insurance I believe that insurance pays for the damages that are the result of the leak not the cause of it. So the insurance company will not pay to replace my leaky pipes So Sad
