 trap

My contractor made a serious mistake by installing a shower on our basement level without a trap. The thing is all the work is done in our basement including the bathroom which has been plastered, painted, tiled ect. The contracter said it'll take a few days but he'd make it right. The shower is neo angle installed on a concrete floor. What a mess. Question is there any device or alternative other than major surgery that can be tired. Install some type of gravity valve?
Probably not but you never know.

I don't think there is anything you can do except add one. Without the trap you will get gasses into the house.
I had one bath that we did not use all the time and the trap would dry out. Not pleasant.

Expensive, but you could put in a sump pump.

UGLY, but there is a sewer pipe plug that expands a rubber collet to fit into the 3 or 4 inch drain pipe. There is a rubber "cup" that is spring tensioned. When water (or anything) pushes down on the rubber stopper it opens up the drain. When the wieght (or water) stops putting pressure on the cup, the spring returns it to its closed position.
Of course this would not be the ideal fix but depending on your situation it would work. I use this thing on my emergency drain in my basement. A cement lip was built around the basement floor drain and my sump pump. If the pump does not work and the sump over flows, the water will open the drain plug and go into the septic on its own with out damage to my room in the basement.
