Just Plain Ignorant

The Beagles home computer has been cleansed of Original Sin, rebuilt, and back up and running. What a frustrating waist of time. We are now so protected with firewalls and anti-virus software we have about isolated ourselves from the rest of the civilized word, and hopefully the uncivilized piece.

I have to compliment the people at Dell Tech Support. Although it takes forever to get someone on the phone, once you do, they are very helpfull and call you back to make sure you have resolved any problems you had.

Congrats, Beagle. Hopefully your efforts will stave off the evil contingent for awhile. No kidding about the waste of time, it took me a few days to rebuild my desktop and restore the backups. It will take even longer when I get around to doing the laptop. The bullet theory of justice seems fitting to me right now.

I'd like to thank those who recommended AVG for Windows as a virus checker. My laptop has been very flakey and NAV insisted it was clean. I downloaded AVG and it found a trojan horse virus right away, fixed it, and now everything is behaving normally. A big thumbs up on AVG!
