Contributions might be a good idea. There's a non-tractor site I visit frequently that is totally free and probably uses more bandwidth and storage than tractorpoint. They have a contribution link. When funds get low the word spreads and a lot of people contribute, often enough to keep it going for another year or two at a time.

Is this site custom programmed, or a canned software package? While I won't miss the features - if the issue was database usage - some of them could easily be re-enabled by programming them as global server variables.

If you still continue to eat up database bandwidth, let me know and I'll see if I can offer any assistance.

Jason

Jason,

The site is custom programmed by me, and yes I have considered some alternatives for some features that are significantly lower overhead than the current approach, just takes time to implement, one of those commodities I am running short on.

Ahhh... I know the time commodity all too well. Good job on the programming!

Maybe the advertisers need to pay a little more.

Dennis,
Process went well once you provided the simple link.

I agree with Mark on the site loading faster and such.

I realize this is a tractor first site but for advertisters, it seems hard to find the seed companies and that is something that ships easy and a lot of us probably would use.

without exagerating, this is the best "no-spin" tractor resource on the web. If money became a real problem, I'm sure the current pool of premium members wouldn't mind if their "dues" went up a bit (whatever would be needed to cover the $$ shortage).

I agree with horse farmer. I spend more time at this site than all the other sites on the web put together.

I am sure I would use seed companys, I would prefer one with exotic items (trees, shrubs, etc)
